Install Linpus Linux 9.4 Lite - Non Acer version

Hi there!

I'm thinking about buying two Aspire One (a blue for me and a white for my girlfriend), and I was wondering if it would be a good idea to install Linpus Linux 9.4 Lite from Linpus instead Acer's one, since, by experience with my Acer Aspire 5600, it came bloated with Acer stuff.

It's possible, isn't it? I mean, it's free, available from Softipedia (674 MB) and it seems to have the benefits Acer tells about PLUS a more Fedora-like user experience (I think!).

You could fid a german tutorial at http://www.pilotennetz.de/computing/tut ... e_install/ . The portuguese translation is at http://translate.google.pt/translate?hl ... T%26sa%3DG is very bad the translation, but you shoul be able to make the installation

 

I sent an e-mail to Ingo The Pilot (the author), and he was very kind updating the site with a English version translated by Martin Rek!

So, how is 9.4 Lite versus the Acer version in daily use? I'm thinking about doing the same my self as i think it would spare me a lot of hassle due to Acer-modifications of the OS.

 

When I ran 9.4 Lite there were issue with H/w.
wifi and camera.

 

anyone have any info on this?
i wanted to do this.
