i've seen a bunch of people mentioning installing a dell wi-fi card in their aspire one. i've having a problem with my aspire one where it won't connect to a bunch of networks (mainly apple airports) and no one is responding to my other post so i'm wondering if maybe I should replace my wi-fi card? is there a how-to somewhere on how to do this? and where would i buy said wi-fi cards?

Several folks have replaced the stock Atheros card for something else. I just completed this mod myself and it was pretty easy if you're comfortable with opening the case. This guide will walk you through the process.

The great thing is that you don't have to add the third antenna if you don't want to. When I installed the card I only used the existing two antennas. I just wasn't comfortable opening the casing surrounding the LCD. The whole process took about 20 minutes. I used an Intel 4965 card from Buy.com.

The card has worked perfectly for me since installing it last week.

Are the original antennas capable of handling 5Ghz signals?

The bundled Atheors only has 2.4Ghz b/g so it is probably the case that the antennas can never handle 5Ghz signals.
