So it looks like they're going to release a One with a ten inch screen. Anyone have any information about it? Like, is it going to be physically bigger than the current AAO, and if so, how much? Screen res? Specs?

I'm curious about this myself. Not in the market for one, but curious. ;)

I can't wait. I'm hoping that the keyboard gets a little bigger almost like the one on the new HP mini 1000, they ship with at least a 6-cell battery and the resolution on the LCD is a higher.

Care to provide any information to back up that statement?

I think it is reasonably likely based on the way the trends are going, but I haven't personally read even what amounted to a rumor to that effect.

If/when they do it, I hope it has:

    1. Higher res, preferably a standard one like 1280x800, maybe 1280x720 for perfect 720p playback.
    2. Not any bigger, what I really like about the One is how tiny it is. Even a 'inch here and a half inch there' makes it too big.
    3. Preferably 10" AAOs will be the same price as 8.9" AAOs are now and 8.9" AAOs will get a price drop. :D

Thanks. I read the first page on engadget most mornings, but I managed to miss this.

"Acer plans to launch 10-inch Aspire One netbooks in February or March next year, according to Scott Lin, Acer Taiwan president.

As for its 8.9-inch netbooks currently available, the 3.5G module-based Aspire One netbooks being bundled with Taiwan Mobile (TWM) services is expected to reach a shipment volume of 9,000 units in the Taiwan market in the fourth quarter this year, Lin said. Acer currently sells 10,000-20,000 Aspire Ones and 7,000-8,000 consumer notebooks monthly in Taiwan, he added.

Lin also pointed out in Taiwan, notebook average selling prices (ASPs) are expected to continue dropping through the end of this year, with an average decline of 10%. High-end and lowest-cost models will feel less price pressure, while models within the range of NT$30,000-40,000 (US$900-1200) will see the largest price drops, he said.

The company will also launch a 14.1-inch LED-based notebook priced below NT$40,000 during the upcoming IT Month-a local promotional sales event-and is preparing to launch 12.1-inch, 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch LED-based notebooks in 2009.

Acer will also start selling a 13.3-inch notebook and all-in-one PCs based on its sub-brand Gateway during the show and the company expects the 13.3-inch notebook will fill up the gap in Acer's product range."

I'm surprised this thread has gone on for so long without a single reference to the possible sexual interpretation of the thread title! We must be a bunch of geeks in this forum!.....Jake
