    Hi all,

Urgently need help. Wrote before on another thread and only got one reply that says some driver options allow users to control which wifi antenna (the left-side vs. the right-side one, both at the top of the screen) will transmit signals and which one will be off, while other driver options only provide automatic control.

Does anyone know how I can select which antenna I want to transmit? Where are the settings for that? Or where can I download drivers to do that?

*** Page 31 (give or take a page) of the official Aspire One Generic User Guide specifically states users can manually select which antenna will transmit signals but gives no additional information as to how to do that.

    Thanks!

    Confirmed; it's on page 31:

"Note: The Acer wireless Mini PCI adapter implements a
transmission diversity function. The function does not emit radio
frequencies simultaneously from both antennas. One of the
antennas is selected automatically or manually (by users) to ensure
    good quality radiocommunication."

That sounds like you would have to make the change with hardware and not software which would mean going inside the case.

    Hi there,

It is a driver selectable item.
Go into Control Panel, and Device Manger then select your wifi car and go to the advanced tab. Then select something along the lines of antenna diversity. I have a Dell 1520 wireless card and I have the options of Auto/Aux/Main.

    Hope that helps
