For those of you have changed your wallpaper using the desktop settings app (available in xfce menu ---> settings OR /usr/share/applications) you may be experiencing a problem. Namely that after you turn on your aspire again, the wallpaper isn't there and you just have a solid colour. The way to solve this is as follows:

    1) Open a terminal (alt+f2 then run terminal)
    2) Type in
    Code:
    su
    then hit enter
    3) Type in your password
    4) Type in
    Code:
    mv
    but do not hit enter
    5) After mv (same line) write the full filepath for the image you want as the wallpaper then a space (again DO NOT HIT RETURN)
eg. /mnt/home/Pictures/green.png (you can just copy this from desktop settings if its the current image)
    6) Still on the same line type in /usr/share/xfce4/backdrops/
    7) Now you can hit enter!
    8) There won't be any confirmation but if you got to /usr/share/xfce4/backdrops/ the image will be there
    9) Select the image in desktop settings in its new location
    10) When you reboot it will stay put :)
