I have a child that has a problem with pornography. I don't want him using my Aspire One for his fetish. I tried using the lock feature, but it runs the battery down. I used the "xfce-setting-show" feature and so am using XFCE as my menu instead of the default desktop links. I tried installing the xfce user module but received an error message saying that my Aspire One had a newer version than the FC8 one I had downloaded. Any help?

    Sincerely,

    Todd

Search the forums for disable autologin. There's a detailed description--you're going to change a line in /etc/rc.d/rc.S.

Indeed -- and it will save the extra time that would be added to the boot by needing to initialise the display manager.

On the other hand, using the display manager gives you the possibility of adding new user accounts to the system, if that is something that floats your boat. But doing that without breaking the storage expansion thingie is a bit fiddly.
