    Hi,

I bought an Aspire One today and can't seem to find it's MAC address. My router has MAC address filtering and I need to add the One's MAC address so the One can see my wifi network (SSID broadcasting is off). Can someone tell me how to find the MAC address?

I sussed ifconfig but under wifi0 I see HWaddr but it appears to be much too long to be the MAC address.

    Bit confused, any help appreciated.

    Many thanks,
    Rowantree

You could temporarily disable MAC filtering on your router, let the AAO connect and note down what the MAC address is from the user list. My router even allows me to add MACs directly from the user list.

On mine the hardware address quoted by ifconfig was a normal MAC address followed by zeroes. The first six sets of numbers worked as a normal MAC address in my router.
