Just purchased an ACER Aspire One 10".

Mistakenly selected Canada French (instead of United States English) for Win XP operating system. Now Windows is in French (quelle surprise !!!). Was that stupid of me or what...

Tried to reinstall the system from recovery partition (no language option), tried changing regional settings (still in French).

Is there some way of going back to square one and reinstalling the OS from scratch with language option English or French?

start - control panel - regional and language settings (icon is a globe) change 2 items in the first tab and 1 in the 3rd tab back to what you want.

    You can't at least easily.

    1. send it back to Acer and hope they reload the default image to your AAO.
    2. Get an image of AAO's hdd/SSD that hasn't been activated before
    3. Get a copy of windows xp and install from disk/image
