    Hi

I upgraded the hard drive to a acer aspire zg5, and I need to install WindowsXP to it

I set the BOOT priority to USB FDD, USB CDROM etc.. leaving the fdd and network boot as the last options.

    but heres the problem..

it just bypasses it and starts booting the hard drive, when i hit the f12 key to select a boot device, it only shows the hard disk and network boot as the only 2 options available.

I have a usb adapter which i often use to plug an ide cdrom when i need to install OS to non-cdrom laptops.

the same results with a usb pen drive, i tried the usb pen drive on another laptop and it does boot fine.

Bump - having the exact same problem.
My USB boot works on other computers, but the Acer doesn't recognize it at all.
