    Hi

After successfully installing skype and VLC I decided to go for the big one and install Firefox 3... which went wrong. And then in my efforts to fix it trashed the desktop screen. By trashed i mean i can't do any right click operations or get in to any of the file menus. In essence, I've semi-bricked it!

I'm trying to go a recovery. Tried it first copying the supplied backup files across to a Sandisk 4gb usb stick and changing the boot order which wouldn't work then again tried it with a 2gb SD card inserted in to a USB port using a card reader but again this didn't work.

In both cases all I'm seeing on the screen is a blinking cursor that's not reacting to any key presses.

In each case I've used clean memory (only having the Acer files onboard) and altered the boot order in the bios.

I'm using the 8gb linpus version.

    Huge thanks in advance...

    Help!

You are supposed to boot the DVD in a computer and use it to create a bootable recovery USB stick.
