Damn! You really caught me out there!

Yeah I can't wait to see what Windows 7 will be like when it's released! Hopefully it'll be a bit more of a success than Vista was...

Windows 7?? What?? So... is Vista not that amazing that Microsoft has to drop XP support July 09? I am so surprised.

Windows 7 is the next stage on from Vista, which they are dubbing as a new OS but doesn't look like it really ;)

It is supposed to be much lighter and so could potentially run on the AA1

it already runs on the one like vista does the features have just not all been implemented yet so there really is no improvement over vista....and there is a big difference between 7 and vista

Yeah, I was actually really hoping for a complete revamp of the look and feel of it. I was over the moon when I changed from 98 to XP for example because XP was so much more pleasing to look at and ultimately use. If Windows 7 ends up looking almost exactly the same as Vista, I'll be so dissappointed... :(

Can't you modify how vista looks or run custom themes or something? i doubt they will look the same

To be honest I've never really tried so I'm not sure. I have used custom themes on XP though after patching uxtheme.dll. I made it look like Vista, but then hated it so I changed it back to the Royale theme.

There are several GUI's out there that will transform XP to look similar to Vista. I have seen 7 and it does look similar to Vista but there are differences. If you have an old machine and you want to check it out, there is a beta out there although not official. I believe MS will be officially releasing a Beta in December, but use at your own risk. That is why I say use an old machine and do it just for kicks.

I doubt that MS will discontinue support for XP that early, it will be postponed and postponed...
