Have an aspire one. It has been working fine, but then the wireless stopped working. Have reinstalled eeeebuntu still not working. There is no lights on the wireless indicator on the front right hand side edge, and when you slide the batton underneath the wireless indicator, it just springs back without doing anything. What can I try please?

I have no idea why, but when I have started it this morning it has said there are network connections available, and has connected when I have put the password in.

They sometimes go off when warm, which could explain your problem.

Then there are other reports of hardware problems with the card, driver problems etc.

I'm having a similar problem under Windows 7. Wireless used to work fine then magically stopped working today. Hardware light is now off. The switch doesn't seem to do anything. The Wifi card *was* in my Device Manager when I first looked, then it literally disappeared before my eyes (as if the DM decided to refresh for some reason). I rebooted and the Atheros card was then listed Code 10 "device cannot start" so I rebooted again, and now the card isn't there at all. I've tried manually installing drivers, but I didn't need to the first time around so I can't see why that would be the problem....

try powering down, removing the battery and then hit the power button a few times. After that replace the battery and start as normal.

Yeah, that works but the problem keeps coming back. Any ideas if this a driver issue, OS issue, BIOS firmware issue, etc?
