    Hey all,

Still trying to get Ubuntu going perfectly, one last problem it seems. Sound works after adding "options snd-hda-intel model=acer" to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base. Sound works fine, but I can't get it to detect headphones connected and mute the main speaker. Basically sound comes out of both - not really what I was hopping for :)

Any thoughts on this, google yeilds few solutions.

    Thanks, Jeff

I would actually also be interested if this is an issue for anyone else? Or is it working normally for someone?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

Fixed it. Had to compile latest alsa-drivers from src. More or less everything working now :)

To those that keep pming me, yes I will be writing a guide to do all of this -- wanted to get it working first.

...except it does not work after a resume...

    *sigh*

Great - I was hoping someone would be doing that soon. Since you're getting close to the end, perhaps a 0.9 release of the guide would get some of us to the same place so we could collaborate with you on knocking off the last few difficult things like resume to help you get to the 1.0 guide.
