google earth wont start

    i can run google earth with a live xubuntu usb in my aspire quite well
    but when i install it in the harddrive it wont start
    i think i need the old version 4.2 to run in this system but cant find it any where any ideas .thanks
    1 GB ram 120gb

    hi John, i went to the web address you gave me. but when i click on the link there. i just get firefox cant find the server at http.
    i can download google earth from the google web site and install it. i get the window that says type google earth to start and then nothing.
    i even have the icon in the network menu.
    from what i can gather i think i need an older version but i cant find one.
