I installed Google Earth on Mandriva 2009 (didn't try it on Linpus), and it is VERY, VERY slow. Maybe a frame every few seconds, all the details on minimum.
On a different laptop (similar in computing power) on Windows XP, Google Earth runs pretty well.
Did anyone try Google Earth on the AO? How does it work?

Yes, but I have a 4 years old laptop (Celeron 1.6Ghz on a crappy ATI 320M), which is slower in 3d stuff than the AO, and Google Earth runs pretty well.
So I really wonder why it is sooooo slow. Maybe some bug?

I have installed google earth in my 110l with linpus and it works well :D, it is fluid even with some layers activated.
Try to disable the atmosphere in the view menu and set 16 bit color in the options, this are the only things I have done. Bye ;)

Yes that does it. Turn the atmosphere off and it works fine in 32bit.

    Thanks for the tip.
