THink plexiglass would work? Maybe lightly sand the backside to make the glow more uniform.

    so would this work? :?:

i mean, does the acer's lcd give off enough light (backlight) for this to work? or would it have to be an LED modification? i'm quite happy with cutting a big hole in the back of the case but electronics scare me a little bit (and i generally don't have the first clue of where to start with them!!! if someone from on here would be able to point me in the right direction of how to get the light to shine through then i will give it a go as soon as possible!!

just thought i'd ask before i take my little netbook apart again and hack away at the shell? :D

    thanks in advance?

Man, If I was ballsy enough, I'd try this out. Maybe give it a nice Acer logo or some Hylian font from TLOZ: The WindWaker.
All that language was on WW was a variant of Kanji. Unlike TLOZ: Twilight Princess, That was English.
But yeah, wouldn't know what's good enough. Heck, the whole case would be cool like this. But without the paper. It'd Be cool to see inside the one.

It is Plexiglass, Plexiglass is a brand of Acrylic.

I am curious about you running the OS X on the Aspire, I know the format is great but how well does it run in a Intel based machine.

you can tap into the 5 volt feeds in the monitor cable to power the leds.
the hardest thing i think is actually cutting the apple logo into the casing and then sanding it down to look smooth.

    400, 600, 800, 1000, 2000 grit sandpaper in that order. It'll be as smooth as a baby's butt.
