I tried to install XP Pro recently but I found that I can not connect to the internet or get a good screen resolution.

I tracked the problem to the device drivers and found that every item under 'Other Devices' in Device Manager has the yellow question mark with the black exclaimation mark inside the yellow circle beside it.

    The devices are:
    Base System Device
    Base System Device
    Base System Device
    Ethernet Controller
    Ethernet Controller
    PCI Device
    SM Bus Controller
    Video Controller
    Video Controller (VGA Compatable)

does anyone know where to go for these drivers? I find that the device descriptions are too vauge to do a meaningful search on google for them.

    Thanks!

All of the drivers are now installed, with the exception of the 3 'Base System Device'. However, the computer seems to be working fine so far.

    Thanks again!

The three Base System Devices are:
    o SD Card Controller
    o xD Card Controller
    o MMC Card Controller

In other words, it is the card reader driver. ;)
