Forgotten password

I have forgotten my Linpus Lite root password. How do I get it or replace it with a new one?

 

I found it in another post

Code:

sudo passwd

As simple as that.

 

sorry for the noobie question but do you type this on the window that prompts for the password or do you type this on a new terminal?
