Does anyone's One LCD flicks? My is 120GB HD installed with XP SP3.

Got my One for 3 days and noticed that it's flickering from time to time especially noticable when brightness is lowered.
Open up something to make the whole screen white will be able to notice easily.

It's like the back light is not steady and the currnet sending to the LCD backlite is not stable somehow. I checked the LCD connector and it's firmly connected.

    Anyone has the same problem?

For what it's worth, mine doesn't flicker so it's not common to all Ones.

Yes, I see the flickering on mine. I have a brand new 120GB unit with XP. It happens on the lowest settings brightness and only on bright white screens. I have mine on the lowest brightness and have the brightness reduced in the graphics setup also.

I have the same problem 120GB/XP.

Its somewhat annoying, I did read here that a bios update will fix the problem...

    Who knows.

seem to notice it happening when on battery with brightness at lowest level and the HDD being accessed. However, have not noticed it since I swapped to Seagate HDD which according to the spec's on the drive labels, used less power. Maybe related?

oh well, I hope Acer will fix the problem if it's possible with BIOS. It's annoying in when you are using battery and try to save some battery with brightness dimmed out.

It's probably common with LED backlite? I found 2~3 of my LED flash lights flickering from time to time. LED suppose to be better. :?

Yup, I noticed this last night. Like everyone else said it only seemed to happen on the very lowest brightness setting. A little annoying but unless I was really looking for it I didn't notice it that much.

yeah, I noticed this too. most obvious when at lowest brightness, but also exist at other dimming brightness (not exist when at about maximum brightness, battery or not)

so far I can live with it, and hopefully a BIOS update will fix it.

This is on top of another problem I have, the left front leg (one out of four on the back of the machine) is a little bit shorter, such that when put on a table, the machine isn't stable. I managed to fix it by attaching some tapes on that leg to make it little bit thicker.....

I'll wait for the bios to hit European mirrors first and to be tested by a few people, given the problems seemingly caused by the 3114 bios I don't want the hassle of updating before I know it's safe.

Yeah I think I will wait as well.

However if anyone wants to translate some release notes that would be AMAZING :)

    Thanks

There is a PDF attacted in the zipped file, it tells you how to install the BIOS step by step,
but it is all Chinese.. (here is my poor translation)

    1. Prepare a bootable USB Key
    2. Copy the sub-directory named 3301 to the bootbale USB Key
    3. Plug in the USB Key and connect the power and adaptor to the Aspire One
    4. After you press the power button and start the computer, press F2 and enter the BIOS config.
5.Select the USB Key to the top boot pirority, save settings and restart.
    6. After the computer start, change directory to 3301
    7. Run 3301.bat to execute BIOS-refresh
    8. Do not interrupt during the refreshing progress, it may cause damage to the system
    9. Reboot after complete, press F2 and enter to the BIOS config page to make sure the BIOS 3301 has been updated.
    10. Select Loading Default, save it and reboot.
