Fix the sound card on my laptop?

    So the sound card on my laptop has finally been busted. It makes a crackling noise every time I play sound. I know you can't just easily replace a sound card on a laptop, so I did some research and found that there are usb sound cards you and plug in (but of course you have to plug in headphones or speakers to them). Anyone have any other suggestion for fixing the sound card on a laptop? Or maybe a recommendation on which usb sound card to get? Thanks!

    SOUNDS MORE LIKELY THAT THE SPEAKERS ARE FAILING, TO TEST THIS PLUG IN A SET OF HEAD PHONES IF IT STILL MAKES a crackling noise then it is possibly a sound card problem

    Thanks guys but the head phones don't work either!!!

    Also I don't want to be using headphones if I don't have too!
