FireFox

Hello,

Mu Acer One comes with Linpus and Firefox 2.

How do I install Firefox 3?

And in general, after downloading a program, what do I need to do to install that program?

I updated to FF3 from the Acer Support site: http://www.acer.com/aspireone/support/files/connect.html

I installed Skype from that page. It went like a dream.

I also changed the Browser Icon to the FireFox Icon.

If I recall correctly this is how I did it:-

1, In the terminal enter the command:

sudo mousepad /usr/share/applications/linpus-web.desktop

2, In the .desktop file find the Icon entry, make a note of it in case of problems, and replace it with:

Code:

Icon=firefox.png

3, Save and exit. Reboot to make the change active and you should now have the FireFox icon as your browser icon.

Let me know how it goes. If it did not work change the Icon entry back to the original entry.
