Firefox 4 on aspire one with linux

    A week or so ago I was prompted to upgrade to FF4 from version 3.6 which has worked well for some time. after clicking the upgrade button and then rebooting, I found that when I click on the FF icon nothing happens. I see no evidence that ver 4 has been downloaded. Can anyone suggest what i can do to access a working browser? I do have skype and it works as usual but I can not access the web otherwise. i am using another PC to pose this question.
