    Hi all, I have not posted much on this forum, once or twice, but today I got my AAO 120 Gb 1 Gb Sapphire blue. Linpus and I am loving it. I have been having a little play with it this evening and it is a very nice bit of kit. I installed VLC and got it up and running in about 20 min, set up the connection to the wireless router on sky no problem, set up my R220 printer which is being shared on my windows PC with no problems and the advance menu setup

    And I an making my 1st post from it now. Which I am quite happy about as even though I am a PC technician my knowledge of linux is limited, but by using this forum for reference and google, I am finding my way around it all fine until I get the dual boot going. So I am learning about linux from this little machine already.

    Anyway just giving my opinion of the AAO and saying hi.

    Re: AAO and sky

    Hi Anthony
    as you mention you are using sky, I wondered if you have set up the email on your AAO to read a sky email account? I had this set up fine but had to do a system restore and now cant get my sky email account set up again! can't work out what I am doing wrong... followed instructions at http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skycom/s ... Id=3297910
    using imap

    any idea what I might be doing wrong? really grateful for any advice!!

    thanks

    Hi, I have set up the sky account on the standard aspire one mail package and it is working on both imap and pop3. Have you made sure that after you have clicked on use SSL, you have switched it back from 25 to 465, as it changes the value. Also make sure that you tick use authenication as the sky servers require it.

    Also make sure that username is your full sky address including the @sky.com after the username. Other than that, try deleting the account and see if you can re-create it with settings again. Hope this helps.
