Can someone explain to me why all of my USB 2.0 Thumbdrives read and write so much faster in my AAO as opposed to when I use them in my iMac?

I have a new 24" iMac and three separate USB thumb-drives of various sizes (1GB to 8GB)

I have tried every combination of formating - FAT32, MacOS, ect...

No what what I do - the thumb drives all work much faster on my AAO.

I am not using a hub on either machine.

I'm not complaining! I just wish they would work as fast in my real Mac!!!

Tx 6GB File - AAO takes ~3 mins, iMac ~7 mins

Are you by any chance writing from the iMac and reading from the Aspire One?

yes, but I've gone the other way too. The AAO writes very fast compared to my iMac. Both computers running 10.5.6.
