Mine goes to full speed at power on. Then:

On cold boot: Stays off for a while, often until after OS is loaded.

On warm boot: Slows down and stays at a low speed forever.

Same behaviour in WinXp and Ubuntu.

    Something seems weird.

Anyone have a way to monitor CPU temp? I've ran out of thing to try on the Linux side, might start trying in WinXp soon.

So I realized that the fan speed is in fact changing. It is just quite enough I couldn't hear it.

Has anyone found a way to monitor the CPU temp in Linux? I found a Windows program to do it, but not the fan speed. Found nothing at all for Linux.
