    *Updated post below*

    I love my AAO!

I'll list my specs and ingame settings for those that are interested.

    Setup:
    A110 (8gb SSD, 1.5GB ram)
*FULL* XP/sp3 install (no nlite, yet).
16GB SDHC, using the alternate driver and mounted as a basic disc.
EWF! (highly recommended, but not needed to play!)
Standard EVE client installed (haven't tried premium, but with EWF it might run good)

    Ingame:

EVE automagically detects/sets the res to 1024x600!

    Display & Graphics
    Display Setup
Dither: uncheck (can check, doesn't seem to change much with EWF)
    Advanced Settings: check
    Fullscreen
    24-bit color with 8-bit alpha
    1024x600
    16-bit z-buffer
Interval immediate (i haven't played with other interval settings yet)

Common Graphic Settings (up to you what you want to use, i'll just list my setup)
    Cache Size: Off
    Turret Effects: check
    Effects: check
    Missile Effects: check
    Trails: check
Use LOD: check (can uncheck if not using EWF to speed up)
    Sun is Occluded...: check
Widescreen: uncheck (this is just user preference, doesn't seem to affect performance)
    Adv. Camera...: uncheck (not needed)
    Load Station Enviorn.: check
Orbit Station: check (again, user pref)

    Graphic Contect Settings
No settings unless premium client installed.

    Audio and Chat
All the options here are user prefs. Can't enable Hardware Acceleration.

    General Settings and the rest...
Again up to you what you want to set. My only recommendation is check Small Station Service Buttons and to uncheck (if its checked) Merge "Items" and "Ships" Into Station Panel because the station panel gets cut off at the bottom of the screen (its the ONLY issue I've found with the UI that doesn't fit properly).

I've been able to do everything I can on my desktop. Run missions, mining, fleet battles, and play for hours. EWF is highly recommended if your using a SSD equipped AAO. I also recommend turning off any fan control software, as it does get a bit warm when playing.

Hope this help, and have fun!

    Re: EVE Online (runs great!)

Just a lil update on the new expansion...

Now that there's no classic client, the new Premium Lite runs, but not as well as before. For doing anything inside a stations is ok at best, in space is another story. Mining would probably be ok, but even so your looking at under 15fps, even with everything turned down/off.

Playable yes, but not very enjoyable like that.

I've also reinstalled. I'm on Windows7 build 7048 now. No EWF yet, still having issues getting it to work correctly, although I've read that it does; I'll keep trying and post my results.

Yea it is, because it ran really well on the AAO.

Well I got EWF working on Win7 (see my post on the win7 board for info). I'm not quite sure what happened, but now I can't play EVE at all. When I start the game I get the main login screen, but it seems to be broken. I get a settings window, but I can't see or change any of the options, nor can I exit out. I have to kill the process via the task manager.

I'll keep pluggin' away at it.

Ok, got it working. Not sure what the prob was, so I reinstalled EVE. Some suggestions. Runs about the same, a little bit faster with EWF.

Turn on the 'Widescreen' option. This'll give you a few more precious fps.

Also, try out GMABooster (google it). It will also help in the fps department.
