cpu speed slower on battery power rather then ac power?????

    I remember reading that somewhere on here. Is that true and if so can you change that to run at full power when on battery power. I got a 6 cell and am not worried about the power consumption. My battery life is already very good. Thanks for your help.

    dont take my word on this, but i think you can install the acer Empowering program from the acer website and create battery profiles..

    it works with my aspire 5683 perfectly and you can choose what is on/off, but i havnt tried it on my AAO

    can any1 confirm?

    Speedstep is throttling your CPU speed down when on AC power.
    You can change this from power options in Control panel. Now should be set as Laptop, if you change to desktop/server you should be able to get rid of the cpu power saving.
