The strangest thing has happened....when going to "Start/Run" and typing in configsys to get rid of pesky things that start when Windows fires up, or hang out in the tray and clutter up the place, I get an error message that says: Windows cannot find it. Any idea where it went, or where it hangs out so I can put it back? I have usd this feature for years and this is the first time it has gone away. Hmmmm...just tried it and it is gone on my desktop also. I am in advancing years and perhaps I am thinking of some other command. Please help....brain farts HURT! Thanks

Whatever it was, just one list dropped out (as I remember) and you just unclicked whatever you didn't want to run or start. What I want to do is remove the X'd over icon in the task tray by the clock that, when moused over says a network cable is unplugged. It looks just like the wireless icon which is all i use. i never hard wire this Acer to a network, and being slightly anal about an uncluttered desktop (3 icons only) and tasktray, I want it gone. Had it gone last week but somehow it returned. How do I safely remove it? And how did I do it? Whatever command I used, I used it acouple of days ago foe my neighbor who removed his Kodak camera program but it kept trying to launch at startup and the icon remained in the taskbar. I typed some command into "run", the list dropped out and simply unclicked it and it no longer appears in the tasktray or trys to launch. So much for "Add and Remove Programs" as sometimes it leaves "sticky stuff" behind.
