Completely remove work laptop data

Hi, My old work where I stopped working more than 2 years ago have gone bust and told me I no longer need to return back the work laptop and that it is mine to keep. I would like to try sell it on so I tried installing a fresh copy of windows via USB flash drive which seemed to have installed fine however when starting the laptop up, it still takes me back to my works windows login screen. Im confused as I thought I had installed a fresh copy of Windows which installation completed. Does anyone know why this happens and how go overcome it?
