Collection of prebuilt Acer Aspire One RPM's

Hi all,

After playing around with hal packages i messed up my AAO with a not working WLAN kill switch.
I didn't made a backup of my system and don't wanted to restore it to original Linpus.
So i built the necessary packages from the available source rpm's.
Aspire One SRPM's

To prevent others from this painful experience I would start a collection of this prebuilt RPM
so everyone can use them. Perhaps others can contribute so we get sometimes the whole bunch of
RPM's ready.

Here you can find my compiled and tested RPM's.

What is an RPM?

 

RPM is a file thats built in "Redhat package manager" format.

It's used for doing program installs on Redhat based Linux distributions (including the Linpus OS on the Acer)

 

Hello,
I'm not really an expert about rpm, but know it's a package, I imagine that Srpm is like "source" to make rpm (and it's a pain to do it as I read you)
but I've few question,
in your tar.gz file there are 6 files (all starting with "hal") but in acer srpm ftp there are only 3 files !?

other question : can we use SRPM to directly install a software ?
for example if I want to re-install kpowersave-0.7.3-2.lp.src.rpm ? what should I do ???
