I recently bought an inexpensive second hand Panasonic Toughbook CF-52. All appeared fine, although I noted it was using a Netgear Wi-Fi dongle. When I removed the panel underneath where the internal Wi-Fi card should have been, it was missing, the terminals taped over.

I bought a dual band Wi-Fi card from eBay as a back up. Yesterday windows updated and afterwards the Netgear dongle wouldn’t connect to the Wi-Fi.

I thought I’d be clever and install the Wi-Fi card. Afterwards, the Toughbook will no longer power on. Tried charging, removing battery, holding the power button down, with no success.

I’m wondering if there was a reason the Wi-Fi card has been removed, and if so, have I wrecked the Toughbook?
