cd drive not recognized ?

    hello i am running crunchbang on my acer aspire 5536 laptop but when i put a cd in the drive it is not recognized and i can not see it in file manager.
    i have posted this question in the crunchbang forums but i have got no answer,does any one know how i can get it to recognize my cd drive please ?

    Place the cd in another drive of any another computer. If it reads the data then problem is with the cd drive of your computer or else the problem with the cd.

    it is ok now,i was using crunchbang o/s and there was no audio player so i changed my o/s back to Peppermint and all good.
