Cannot add programs

    I have just purchased a new Aspire One linux version and want to install GIMP.

    I have entered the system and clicked add/remove. After sometime I receive a message

    "Unable to retrieve software info
    Cannot retrieve repository metadata (respond.xml) for Repository. Please verify its path and try again"

    Any advice? I cannot find this question answered elsewhere.
