    Hi,

I bought a refurbished Lenovo Thinkpad earlier this year & while I've had no problems with it so far, I'm unable to work out what one specific port is for or what it does, can someone help me please ?
Here's a picture of the port itself (top middle), All the ports or connections around it are USB etc..., but I can't figure out what this is & most people I've asked don't know either. I thought it was maybe a HDMI port but they have slants on both sides & this just has it on the left.
Below it there is two markings which I can't make out clearly but the second one looks like a D with a smaller d inside it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

It's nice that someone in this so called community finally replied, but seriously, what's the point in replying if you're giving the WRONG information anyway ?
In the 16 days that no one responded on here previously, I did a google search & then checked on a specialists website about ports.
This is NOT a weird shaped HDMI port at all as you claim, which you should know as you literally described what it is used for, then decided to list it as something else.
It's actually a display port which you can buy an adapter for, to connect to HDMI, see attached picture :)

Wow you really are a prat.

The point of replying is to help, because that's the point of the forum. It's why you came here.

I joined about 1 hour ago and my first experience of this forum, I hope this is not the standard.

So what if it has been 16 days? Did you see some advertisment, "answers in 30 mins or less"?

It is an HDMI out, using lenovos patented cable.

You could have found that at ANY TIME in the MANUAL.

Buying an adaptor just changes the shape, it's still an hdmi output function.

Finally since you apparently have found the answer* somewhere else why didn't you come as post it?
Sadly I have already answered this question in the first line.

Wow! Name calling in your 1st hour & you're asking for me to be banned ? I won't reply doing that because I'm a better person & it seems that your reply now indicates you knew it wasn't a 'weird shaped HDMI out' after all, which proves my point without using childish name calling.

As for 16 days ago, that's nothing to do with you as you weren't on here right ? Again though, you turn 16 days into a pizza advert..... well done :)

'It is an HDMI out, using lenovos patented cable.' NO it isn't! It's a display port as I've already stated but you're too bothered about being abusive to read correctly.
The adapter doesn't change the shape either, so read the description. It turns a male display port into a female HDMI port.

It also shows how bad you really are as a person because you claim to know everything without ever using common sense. When did I say I have the manual or could get hold of 1 ? NEVER! If that was so easy to do 'ANYTIME' as you list, why didn't you look & reply with what it actually is instead of what you did state ?

Judging by your comments & now reading that you've joined very recently, I'd say that you're only here to cause trouble, but unlike you, I don't need to throw my dummy out of the pram & be abusive because your own words show what you are :)

I think you need to re-think things - there was no need to jump down someones throat for trying to help! You're reading FAR too much in to these posts and yes, your account is now banned.
