Can a laptop be turned on when the display is disconnected?

    The display of this lenovo E40-70 is removed. When I press the power button, nothing happens.

    I'm sure it's either because there is no display or it's related to the motherboard.

    Before I removed the display it could be turned on. I removed the display because the display cable was damaged and there was no backlight. Unfortunately a short circuit occurred in the display cable while removing the display.

    Any guidance is highly appreciated.

    If it has a connector for external display you could try connecting a desktop monitor.
