    Hi,

Recently I've noticed small bright areas on my laptop monitor.
They are not dead pixels as they don't stay this way.

I drag a jpg picture across the screen ....
when a dark part of the jpg crosses this problem area everything looks fine.
However, when a brighter part of the jpg is in this area it looks too bright.

Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it ?

Welcome to the laptop forums site

It's likely that the monitor is faulty

You could try to uninstall the monitor driver and graphic card in the control panel.
