Just wanted to let you know, that I was successful in replacing the Bootlogo on my AAO250, this works for others as well I guess, at least all these which use InsydeH2= Bios driver.

Here is the link to the howto on my wiki:

    Thanks for writing this up.

I have a AOA150 model and I am getting Image format error. Any ideas? I have tried jpg, bmp, pcx and other sizes, the test image you
made also gives me the same error.

    Thanks!

Did you use the Winflash I linked in the Stuff section of my post or any other?
You got the correct FD for your system in the Winflash directory?
    Where you placed the image?

Yes I used your linked WInflash and I put the BIOS FD in the folder, although I put the same version bios
that was already on my acer, do you think that could of been it? I will try updated with the latest bios version.

Well you can flash it over and over and over, doesn't matter :) I found the error message you got in the binary, but so far not came to reverse the part it belongs to completlly to tell what is exactly causing it.

Can you upload your sample logo somewhere else? Rapidshare is always saying someone else is downloading on my IP. Also...rapidshare's connection is very slow.

Are you using a A150 as well? All people havng problems so far had a A150, maybe something diffrent here. You should try with a small basic PCX or BMP first maybe.

What's the exact boot image requirement?
So far, the image you uploaded is:
    640x480
    96dpi
    .jpg 24bit color

Try 72 dpi, but shouldn't matter anyways. I made the pic, exported for web in PS withno compression enabled on 100%. Worked like a sharm, I also tried with a BMP without RES, worked nicely as well.

i've an a150bx; i've downloaded latest bios from acer website (v.3309) and it came with indydeflash utility. I've tried to update using insydeflash provided by acer but i got the image format error. So i've tried with your image and got the same error. I've tried also to update the bios without any mod but after the first reboot the netbook didn't worked : the fan started to spin ad full speed and after few seconds the pc turned off. So i downgraded to my original version (3305) using an usb pen, then tried again with the insydeflash you provided, the image you provided and bios 3305. got image error format again. -.-

I just noticed. The hack is probably only for AAO 10" D series. The old ZG5 and A1xx series doesn't work.

    i've also tried
    800*600 and 1024*600 custom jpeg
    and
    640*480 1024*768 custom bmp;
    still got that error.

I don't think it's impossibile to hack the bios for older machines.. maybe we just have to discover the right image parameters and dimensions (in kb). It should be easier (for someone who knows how to do it) to try to understand in wich cases insydeflash gives that error rather than keep on trying with thousands of different image (resolution / format / dimensions) combinations.

Did you try it with winflash supplied with your FD image? This Winflash I provided is generic usally but maybe yours needs another version (which I doubt).
Does the A110/150 "Bios" tell something about InsydeH20 in the setup menu or does it tell about MobilePro?
