Blank screen (but moveable cursor) after Acer screen bootup

    Hi all,

    My AOA 110-1722, linux with an ssd, nearly out of warranty, begins booting up fine, but after the light blue acer screen, goes to black with a cursor (not frozen), but does not proceed from there.

    I do not know whether I'd be able to get help from Acer on this, or what. I also don't know if this is the same issue people are fixing with a bios flash drive fix - if so, I'd want to know exactly which directions I should follow to fix it.

    Any ideas? If you need more information, please let me know, and I will provide.

    It is not the Bios issue, sorry.

    I would believe it to be an operating system problem. Some linux issue.

    Thanks! I managed to use the recovery dvd-to-usb and have a functional computer again. Lost all files, but I can handle that.
