Black Screen, No webcam

    Hi, I have an old Dell 1521 laptop. When starting up the screen is black. However, when I shine a torch at the screen I can see writing/letters. So, I thought I’d remove the screen to see if it was faulty and noticed the webcam had been taken out. Would that be the reason for the black home screen? It needs to have a webcam to make a full connection?

    I am not sure if the webcam would make a difference. I assume the screen was working while you had it like this?
