I picked it up a day or 2 ago. my Aspire One was 5 revisions behind.

There is next to nothing in it. Biggest feature was battery discharge option.

    Thanks for the info.

Downloaded it already. Will install it tonight when I get home. Didn't bring the ac adaptor out....with the huge batteries, don't need that when I am outside...

Ok, i was going to just leave it at yes. as i recall, it has both a windows installer/flasher and a dos flash from dos boot disk option...

I did the windows flash update from XP just fine.

    That can't be good.

    dont panic yet!

Have you pulled the battey off and removed the A/C, removed all usb devices.
reattach the A/C and battery then reboot?

I know the Aspire One does have an emergency bios recovery option.

It looks like you need a thumb drive and a few files. I am not sure if this is the route to go just yet.

    Edit:

    DOH!!!
I just noticed you have an AAO150!
    This is a AAD150 10.1" Bios..

    is it totaly bricked?
Can you pull off a crisis mode repair still?

Tryed the power down feature and nada. It doesnt power up.. the LED doesnt go on. I cant even hear it power on...It's dead in the water. I email ACER as a precautiuon to get the ball rolling. But I rather fix it myself.

I do have a USB drive, can someone point me on the right files and what to do...

Don't know if this can help, but I heard that to restore factory bios, you have to just unplug the
mainboard battery for 1 minute, then plug it. The problem is how to reach the mainboard.

DO NOT WORRY! I had these exact symptoms. no post, no power, nothing. you need a pen drive(usb flash drive) and another computer to prepare it. follow this guide and it WILL work. the AAO has a way to flash a bios even if it can't post. http://macles.blogspot.com/2008/08/acer-aspire-one-bios-recovery.html

I used this exact site to repair my AAO, so I can confirm that it works! just make sure you leave it alone until its done flashing. it takes about 5 minutes.
