If anyone could help me with this, I would be very grateful.

The shift key on my Asus K501UX Laptop started to stop working, so I took the key off to clean underneath (which fixed the issue). I'm now having a real problem reattaching the key to the keyboard (I tried to do this with other keys which have worked fine). I've searched online for help and for instruction videos but so far these haven't been particularly helpful.

one issue seems to be that the key retainer clip is still attached to the key itself. When putting it back down on the laptop, it just won't clip into place (whether I include the metal element or not). Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. 45085786_10216632284909844_3588389242448904192_n.jpg 45058467_10216632284549835_1080804781754155008_n.jpg

had previous experience with an Asus laptop a few years ago, some keys weren't working correctly so i took them off to clean them. If i recall, when i went to put them back on at least two of them had those retainer clips on them and weren't supposed too. I ended up getting a few knockoff replacement keys online, so hopefully the clips being attached to the keys doesn't mean that the keys are broken like they were in my case. Either way, a couple knock off replacements online could potentially only be a few bucks if your willing to go through the headache of locating them.
