For those of you who can't wait to get a acer aspire one I would check out the asus eee pc 1000h

    http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec.hmx ... ia=BA25232

for 449, I was tempted  to buy it but i like the smaller portability of the one.

    Specs:

    1.6 atom

1 gig ram (up to 2gb)

    80 gb hdd

    6 cell battery

    bluetooth

    etc etc. . . .

It's over 3 lbs in weight though. (1.45 kg).

The netbooks are getting bigger--that's one nice thing about the Aspire One, for me, at least, it was pretty much the perfect compromise--a slightly bigger screen and keyboard, but still quite small.

I moved from an eeepc 701 to an aspire one.. it was night and day, and much more usable without feeling like it's that much larger.. But the 1000h is the size (or slightly larger) of some ultra portable 12" laptops. I feel when you get to that size, than the size factor becomes less important and that you might as well go for a regular laptop with good battery life.

Yea, I was really tempted in getting it but I sat and thought about WHY I wanted the Acer ONE,

. . . that's portability. Anyhow the Acer One is a lot sexier

Are they not limited to 1 gig like other XP netbooks?

Seriously, I decided to buy it this morning and it dropped from $439 to $409 boy did it woke me up. Glad I didn't pull the trigger yesterday. I think this is a much better alternative than AA1 and the price drop sealed the deal.
