The little board 55.S0207.001 seems to be dead. It accepts the ear phone jacket, the 5 in 1 card reader, but no more the 2 USB ports. About micro I don't know, have none.
Is it this board, can I just replace and go?:(

The model is "AOA150-BGW AOXPHSTDE1 MC UMAGCW 2*512/16", stated by acer Germany during an earlier intervention.
I think the problem was created when I used an external DVD drive with two USB cables, one for data, one for power. Normally I used the two ports on the power board/right side. When I tried to supply the USB 5 V from external and use one port for data it died. Currently I try to get a spare for low money...

...sorry, forgot to say that I have uninstalled all usb-drivers before. As well I have started the recovery program to be sure to start from scratch - as good as possible - but no function of the 2 USB ports...

I have replaced the PB 55.S0207.001 but no success, same problem. I think the main board got the problem. Even running the full recovery program gives no change, the two USB ports stay dead. I have no more ideas how to reset/restart these ports.
Whatever, many thanks and kind regards

Hi, what you could do for me is to verify if you have 5V from your usb port.

Hi, it looks like there is nothing. When hooking up an external multi reader there is no power indicator on. That let's me think it is coming from the main board. I've tried all I can imagine to restart the ports via hardware manager, recovery program etc. , but no result. A new board which I ordered made no difference, the 2 ports stayed dead.

Hi, I looked at the schematic for your laptop and the power is coming from a circuit on the motherboard. If you are up to it, I can guide you to repair this problem, only if you have some skill in soldering chips. Or you can get it repaired at repair store.

Hi Adamo, I do have some experience in soldering, but don't know about these micro chips. If you can provide a picture or copy of the print where I have to look and/or replace I will try it. My email is: [email protected].
    Best regards

Well, one important thing, do you have a multimeter ? Because I want you to check voltages on an integrated circuit.

Hi there, yes I have a multimeter and could try to mesure the voltage. But If I go down to the main board, most of the other parts will be removed. Is the PS still providing anything to the main?

What I want you to do is to find a chip on the motherboard, on my schematic it is U16, but on your motherboard it could be something else. The chip number is G525 written on it. You have two chips with that number, one chip is for the USB port on the motherboard and the other is for the external USB ports. When you found the chip could you take a picture so I could see the shape of this chip.

I have no such ICs on the board, but 2 x FDS 6675BZ. P01 and P02. Same input, but P01 has nov output. Both located at top - next to the battery -, in the middle of the Main PC. I don't know how to upload pictures here, could do it via my email. If ok let me know.
    Best regards, DB

The chips you found are Mosfet, they are switches for the power. So give me the numbers you will found on all 8 pins chips. That way I will look at what I'm searching.

Sorry, I don't understand, which numbers do you mean? I have no drawings, so no idea where the pins go to. Today I found in the web drawings from "Quanta Computers", but they obviously don't fit to my board. If you go back in this thread you will find the exact description of my PC, according to Acer. My machine is supplied via German Telekom, equipped witth the two additional USB-ports at the right side, 5/1-card reader, micro in and earphone out, can switch between WLAN and 3G/UMTS (if using a SIM card, slot is behind the battery, as well doesn't work any more due to a broken spring or contact or whatever). The switch is in front on the right hand side. There is also another slot for additional SD card on the left hand side, another USB port, LAN cable input and external VDU out. And PS input of course. To bad that I have no drawings, it would really help.
    Thanks and regards

What I mean is to give me the numbers written on all the IC that have 8 pins. I need those numbers to find out what are those ICs, like the two you found with 8 pins FDS 6675BZ. I have the same drawing from Quanta, and it's not your motherboard.

I have a picture of a motherboard, tell me if it looks like your motherboard. If this is the case, I circled a chip I need the number written on it.

Hi Adamo, finally it worked out to attach the picture of my main board. It is similar to your's but not identical.

Hi Adamo, do you have further info? If not I will mount the baby and let it work without the USB-options.
    Thanks and regards
