Good day, I have an Aspire One 120Gb, winXp and yesterday I go to boot it up and after 30 seconds it powered off. Tried several time with and without the A/C jack, Safe mode and it always powered off.... The fan works, I feel warm air coming out from the computer. I left the unit to cool down for an hour and I was able to boot up to the desktop and it powered off about 4 minutes after powering on. It sounds like a thermal problem.... but the fan works !!!

Toughts and ideas welcome, if possible I'd like avoiding a return to ACER...

I don't know the solution, but I'll bump this back up for you.

It's tough to get an answer around here...

Did you try a BIOS update? What BIOS version do you have?

Is this the first day you've had it? Have you installed any new software, esp fan speed or temperature monitoring stuff?
