I just bought an ASPIRE ONE model number ZG5 and I seem to be missing the new GUI.

Oh come on, give us a little bit of a clue as to what you're after.

    Are you saying:

    1. You have a new Aspire One, but it doesn't have the standard Acer GUI as shown in the first image on that weblink (in which case it's not a new GUI at all, it's the one all AAOs have had from the start). In that case, what does your desktop look like?

    2. You have that desktop, but not the one shown in the next image on that weblink - in which case you need to say what you've done to set that desktop up, and at what stage something went wrong.

    Hi,

I defiantly feel elpea is confused and possibly feels that the second image is in the backdrops folder there by available as a new desktop skin if you like.

    @ elpea,

If you follow the tutorial at the link you gave you can change your default desktop image to the second one regarding desktop wall paper you like and panel headings etc. ;)

I have the XP version. Is that why my GUI is different?

I'm Linux as well, and can't seem to find much in the way of screenshots of the XP version. It might be an idea to post your query in the Windows specific area of the forum, and see if anyone can tell you what the XP interface looks like.

Not really sure what elpea is asking for - a Limpus GUI on the XP version??? hmmmm

Anyway whilst there are people responding to this I have aproblem whereby the Acer Limpus GUI (as per the screenshot) has disappeared since I activated the ricght click and entered the Emerald Theme app.

I now get an aspire splash screen, the status bar and the icons e.g. web browser, etc has disappeared.
Any idea how I get this back??

At present I can only right click and choose an app from the menu. Real pain in the proverbial
