    HI all,

I love my one but I hate the poor audio quality I get using the headphone out (poor bass, lack of definition etc). Looks like the XP model is much better so the poor sound must be a driver issue. Is there any hack I can do to improve things? Newer drivers?

    thanks!

You could try recompiling the alsa drivers, the latest release has an option for the aspire...
    (in modprobe.conf.dist) options snd-hda-intel model=acer-aspire
