Any luck with Clonezilla?

    Has anyone had any luck using clonezilla to make an image of their system?

    I have tried running clonezilla from both CD and USB and the boot-up freezes every time. If anyone know how to make it work, or any recommendations for another free imaging/backup software, please share!

    I had the same problem, if you wait long enough (15 mins tops) it may unfreeze, give an error message and leave you at a terminal prompt. I believe this is a problem with the DSL distro for clonezilla live. You may want to try some other distro from pendrivelinux.com and manually install clonezilla on it.

    I went with Symantec Ghost Solution Suite instead, worked after some tinkering. I even got the realtek network card working in DOS so i could ghost over network to a windows/samba shared folder.

    New version 1.2.1-2 of clonezilla is working now.
