Anti virus required

    Hello all,
    Please excuse my ignorance if this is a stupid question, do I need any anti-virus protection on my Linpus
    Aspire One?

    The quick answer is 'no' :)

    A slightly longer version is you generally don't need it, but AV programs do exist for Linux should you feel the need to have one.

    They exist to protect Windows machines if the Linux computer is acting as a file server or mail server on a network of Windows computers. I doubt very much that a netbook like this one is going to be used in that capacity.
