    typed it in terminal and gave me this:

    [user@localhost ~]$ sudo yum install amarok-extras-nonfree
    updates-newkey 100% |=========================| 2.3 kB 00:00
    fedora 100% |=========================| 2.1 kB 00:00
    updates 100% |=========================| 2.6 kB 00:00
    Setting up Install Process
    Parsing package install arguments
    No package amarok-extras-nonfree available.
    Nothing to do
    [user@localhost ~]$

    any idea what happening??
    also when i open amarok, a pop window appears
    "The xine-engine claims it cannot play MP3 files.
    You may want to choose a different engine from the Configure Dialog, or examine the installation of the multimedia-framework that the current engine uses.

    what is this???

    Did you first add the livna repository as outlined in that thread?

    Cheers.

    I followed all the steps in installing Amarok which worked perfect but when trying to install the MP3 codec so I could listen to MP3 and streaming internet radio I was unable to install the amarok-extras-nonfree package. I kept getting the "no such package exists" message. I then noticed on the Livna site this recent message below

    20081103 - all old packages have been removed from the repositories for F8, F9 and devel; use RPM Fusion instead.

    20081103 - rpm.livna.org merged with dribble and frehsrpms into RPM Fusion. All packages from rpm.livna.org that still had maintainers have been imported to RPM Fusion. There is just one exception, as there is one package that RPM Fusion didn't want to host; rpm.livna.org will continue to provide that package for the foreseeable future.

    All users of rpm.livna.org for F8, F9 and rawhide should have been automatically transferred to RPM Fusion by now. If you haven't been transferred then please use this command to enable RPM Fusion on your system:

    yum install rpmfusion-free-release rpmfusion-nonfree-release

    So then from the terminal I did
    Code:
    sudo yum install rpmfusion-free-release rpmfusion-nonfree-release
    I said "yes" to all the install prompts and then tried the
    Code:
    sudo yum install amarok-extras-nonfree
    and this time it worked perfect and I can now listen to MP3/streaming internet radio from Amarok. My guess is simply adding
    Code:
    sudo rpm -ivh [url]http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-8.rpm[/url]
    will no longer make the amarok-extras-nonfree available for download since they have been moved to RPM Fusion.

    I have the same problem but it says that Nothing to Do. Does that mean that my repositories have moved to fusion?

    The Livna repository moved to Fusion for every person on this planet and beyond ;) Also check their website:

    I could never get Amarok to play as it should using the xine engine - it would play but a driver error message would pop up after every track - hitting ok would close down Amarok but if I just left the error messages it would play. The Helix engine was OK - until now. I am now getting a driver error when it tries to play - it then skips to the next track and then the next etc. No playing at all. Anybody any Idea what might be going on?

    Hi all! Really sorry but I followed the advice here and got the following reply:

    [root@localhost user]# sudo yum install rpmfusion-free-release rpmfusion-nonfree-release
    Setting up Install Process
    Parsing package install arguments
    No package rpmfusion-free-release available.
    No package rpmfusion-nonfree-release available.
    Nothing to do

    Any ideas? I am a new user!

    Many thanks!

    Hi! Thanks for your help. the RPM free and nonfree packages installed no problem, but the amarok-extras-nonfree command returned a couple of dependency errors:

    Error: Missing Dependency: xine-lib(plugin-abi) = 1.24 is needed by package xine-lib-extras-freeworld
    Error: Missing Dependency: amarok >= 1.4.10 is needed by package amarok-extras-freeworld
    Error: Missing Dependency: libdc1394.so.22 is needed by package ffmpeg-libs

    Pirut has the first one, but that in turn delivers a dependency error itself:

    Missing Dependency: xine-lib(plugin-abi) = 1.24 is needed by package xine-lib-extras-freeworld

    Amarok version is 1.4.7-7.fc8.i386 and will still not play mp3 !

    Totally confused but determined to get this to work!

    Thank you!
