It could be a possible driver conflict problem. The windows drivers are in the
windows/system32/driver folder. File names like kbdclass.sys and i8042ptr.sys

Its worth going to the control panel, then hardware and sound, then the device manager
scroll down to the keyboard section, choose keyboard then right click and update the driver.

There's a test that will determine if your problem is a software or
    hardware problem.

Download a copy of linux to dvd or flash drive. Run it you don't
need to install it,if the keyboard works normally on linux
then it's a windows software conflict.

If it does not work then it could be a loose cable or greater problems
that may require a repair at a computer shop.

Report back if it works on linux and we will try to resolve the windows
    problem.

You have probably little to lose in investigating the problem a little further, checking all connections, and obtaining a disassembly/service manual off the net is quite easy.

Buying a usb keyboard could also be an alternative.

Other than that it's bin it or have it repaired.

One last thought, Windows supplies a on screen keyboard
it should be listed in your accessories section.
